Over 100 members, partners and supporters of NextGen, the networking group for young people working in the UK fruit and viticulture industry, gathered on Friday 15 November for the organisation’s annual ball.
Held at Lyde Arundel in Hereford, a fantastic evening of food and drink, was followed by an auction and raffle to raise funds for the group.
On the night, founder and chairman of Haygrove, Angus Davison, also gave a thought-provoking keynote speech. He encouraged those working in the horticultural sector to focus the measurements of business not simply on profit but on people and the planet too.
“It was a great turn out for our first black tie event as NextGen Fruit Group with a mix of new and old faces networking and having fun,” said committee member Alex Myatt. “We would like to say a huge thank you to our keynote speaker, Angus Davison and to Field 2 Fork Catering for the delicious canapés and dinner. It was a fantastic night of youth, positivity and energy and we will be hosting another ball in 2020 so watch this space.”
A range of English wine was served at the event including Biddenden Vineyard’s Ortega and Halfpenny Green’s Penny Red.
