Working in partnership with English Wines Plc, Kent’s independent materials handling equipment specialists, Mobitech Lift Trucks, is proud to be involved in the group’s latest development, the long-awaited Curious Brewery site in Ashford, Kent.
Established in 2011, Curious Brewery focuses on making beer with a winemaking twist. As well as re-fermenting the beers with Champagne yeast, from Chapel Down, to give its lager an extra layer of depth, the forward-thinking brewery team has used yeast from Bacchus fermentations to create a style called ‘Saison’ and has also created a ‘Brut IPA’, which has the dryness and carbonation of a brut style sparkling wine.
Having worked with English Wines Plc for the last 13 years, Mobitech has supplied an additional two pieces of equipment for the Curious Brewery site.
“The brewery, which will look to produce around 7 million pints per year, is aiming to start its first brew during the second week of June,” said Matt Anderson, head brewer at Curious Brewery. “With all the tanks and equipment on site, space will be very tight, so we have had to select a compact style forklift which is where the relationship with Mobitech came into play, as they have supplied all our other sites with various pieces of equipment.”As well as being an exciting period of growth for one of England’s largest wine producers, the last couple of years has also seen the rapid expansion at Mobitech Lift Trucks.Established by Andrew Barker in 1986, Mobitech remains a family-run business with the second generation, son and daughter, and their spouses actively involved across all areas of the company.Passionate about helping customers across Kent and Sussex to find the right equipment, the Frittenden-based company are main dealers for Agrimac, Goodsense and EP Forklifts but can also supply customers with any make and model of machine on the market.“Mobitech is able to supply new and used equipment alongside our hire fleet of 250 plus machines which enables us to provide short- and long-term rental,” said Sarah Barker of Mobitech. “Our team of highly skilled engineers can carry out on-site servicing and maintenance and we also benefit from a fully equipped workshop for repairs and refurbishments, backed up by our parts and service team. With safety being of paramount we are also able to provide customers with on-site forklift driver training meeting all the RTITB standards.”
